That other Fairchild Hiller FH1100.

The previous posting of ZK-HHW has got me moving again on an item that I have had been on hold.

In late June I was invited out to the Ferrymead Aeronautical Society to view their latest addition.
It is the Fairchild Hiller FH-1100 c/n 247 CC-CCO.
I have been awaiting a reply from an aviation historian in Chile before going into print. But to date he has come up with no additional history.

Brendan Leddy actually imported Two FH1100’s from Chile in 2001 with c/n 211 becoming the active ZK-HXF2 whilst a second airframe c/n 247 – one of the last ones built – was also imported. This was used for parts. More recently this airframe was gifted to the Ferrymead Aviation collection and delivered by truck to Christchurch. It is now in their workshop whilst they source various parts which have been offered by Brendan Leddy and Winged Hunters, Goodwin and James McNutt.

Above is a view of the manufacturers plate.
Below is the airframe parked next to a set of Hudson wings with a Piper Pawnee behind.
