ZK-DXI

At North Shore back on 13-03-2016 Terry Fletcher captured the Warrior ZK-DXI.
This Piper PA-28-161 Warrior II is c/n 28-8016132 and was built as N81191 towards the end of 1979. In 1984 it was re-listed in the States as N183BW until being cancelled in February of 1990 so as to enter the NZ register as ZK-FVI on 26-02-1990 for the Nelson Aero Club, with whom it was branded as 'Bold Warrior II'.
The pic above shows N183BW also marked as 'FVI' at Nelson on 15-02-1990.
Note also the 'Bold' to the left of the factory applied 'Warrior II' marks and the rough looking US marks.
It didn't become ZK-FVI officially until the 26th.
Below we see it at Nelson on 11-12-1990.
From 01-10-1997 it was listed with New Power 1996 Ltd of Christchurch followed by Mike Newcombe at Christchurch from 30-08-1999.
The Bellview Flight Centre Ltd of Christchurch appear on the scene from 13-08-2002 with the North Shore Aero Club (Inc) picking it up from 05-05-2004.

They re-registered it as ZK-DXIon 06-05-2004.
Above is Terry's photo taken at North Shore on 13-03-2016.

Just to complete the picture (so to speak) we have a shot of the Cessna 172M Skyhawk II ZK-DXI1 (c/n 17266900) taken at North Shore on 01-12-1993.
This aircraft was built as N1199U and was imported by Dalhoff and King Aviation Ltd and registered on 14-06-1976. It was listed with the North Shore Aero Club from 06-10-1976.
It was damaged in a heavy landing following a banner tow on 01-01-1983 and then damaged in an incident in the Brynderwyn Hills on 20-01-2003.
This lead to its cancellation from the NZ register on 12-11-2003.
As a bit of useless information ZK-DXI was the Cessna 172M used in the flour bombing incident at Eden Park in 1981.
