Ah yes - that tree and ZK-EIA

 Oops !  How can we get this home and park it before the boss finds out ?
Pawnee Brave ZK-EIA following its altercation with a tree whilst spraying down Rakaia way.
 Below we have the retrieval crew beginning the dismantling process and returning all the bits back to Airwork at Christchurch.
That's the late John Pierre walking across in front of the wing.

  1. Who was the pilot on this occasion? I seem to recall that EIA was flown by Col Bolgar when it was with Airwork

  2. To Lord Nelson...The pilot in this case was Tim Fredrickson.
    In the second photo the culprit is standing upright and fast - the gum tree. CMM

  3. To CMM - thanks for that. I recall the Fletcher 400 CMM of Airwork that was based at Rangiora with Tim in the early 80's when Peter Irvine had the Co-op 300 CRY.At the same time Rowley's operated a few Braves. Hope to see more photos of the ag-aircraft you were associated with
