Omaka visitors # 2

Victa Airtourer 100 ZK-CHF (c/n 98) was delivered to the Southland Aero Club at Invercargill on 02-03-1965. It was transferred up to Ivan East at Wellington on 06-10-1972 and was hired to the Wellington Aero Club until heading up to the Waitemata Aero Club at Ardmore from 05-11-1973.
At Waitemata it was known by such names as the Concrete Cabbage and Charlie Hotel Fast.
The next lucky owner was the Northland Districts Aero Club at Whangarei from 13-06-1975. It went into private ownership on 02-06-1982 with R D Goodison followed by its current owner Allan Higgie of Wanganui from 21-12-1994.
It often features in the depths of my number one log book.
An airshow regular is the De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver ZK-CKH (c/n 25) from the Beaver Preservation Trust.
The NZ demonstrator of the Cirrus Design Corporation SR22 GTS Platinum Generation Five ZK-CNZ2 (c/n 4113) was on site thanks to B B Aviation.
The Palms on George Ltd's Cessna A185E ZK-DAH2 is c/n 185-1492.
The DAH letters came from the surname initials of the first NZ owners from 1990 - Warren Denholm And Phil Higgins. It has been a serious parachute dropper ever since.
Nice to see was the Cessna 305A Bird Dog ZK-DAJ2 from The Strome Family Trust at Drury.
Its tail numbers is actually its construction number.
Its real tail number back in 1952 would have been 51-12234.
